      RIGHT TO WORK ZONE OVERRIDE FAILS BY ONE VOTE: Earlier this year, Operating Engineers Local 150 initiated SB 1905 (Silverstein/Moylan) which prohibits Right to Work zones in the State of Illinois. After the General Assembly passed the bill, with labor's strong support, Governor Rauner vetoed SB 1905. On Tuesday, the Illinois Senate overwhelmingly voted (42 yes/ 13 no) to override the governor's veto. On Wednesday, the Illinois House attempted to override the governor's veto - but the attempt, needing 71 votes to override, fell one vote short (70 yes / 42 no / 1 present). Read More...
